| I read that doujinshi article over the weekend; quite good actually. And the manga thing was an interesting little piece about the history of manga in America. The fat Pikachu in it made me laugh. |

I am surprised that no one is paying more attention to this article. It's the freakin' front page of WIRED, with MANGA!!! in huge letters on the front. Can't miss it, the thing practically jumped out at me on the stand. |

| I enjoyed the short manga and thought it was really a good informative summary of the last decade or two of anime/manga fandom in America. And yes, the fat pikachu was lovely. |

Finally got to it, and I'm kinda disappointed Toren's given no credit. (Maybe he didn't wanna do an interview...?) |

Yeah, read it when it came out (darn bastahds keep sendin' me free mags!).
Damn, Jason Thompson can be brutally honest sometimes. I'm sure the American comics people aren't too fond of him right now. Also his description of shounen manga: "involves nonstop action, shouting, and gratuitous peeks up girls' dresses." It's funny because it's true! But damn, that's understandable in an otaku mag like P. Addicts, but saying it in a mainstream mag like Wired? HA! That'll make the lay people do a double-take. |
