| I was just checking the Fuse.tv schedule and they have Ergo Proxy and Tenjho Tenge airing Fri. Dec. 7 at 11pm and 11:30pm Pacific Time. Didn't see any mention of this in the column. |

I wonder which (if any) anime series will succeed 'Texhnolyze' and 'Ergo Proxy' on G4 when they complete their runs in a couple of weeks?
And shortly thereafter, 'Last Exile' .... |

Saturday December 1 10:00pm - Episode 113 "Take to the Sky: Ride the Knock Up Stream"
Having caught the "Southbird" and fixed their ship and saved the treasure from the bad pirates, the straw-hat crew finally makes their way to the fabled Skypeia. Unless the "Knock Up Stream" accidentally kills them, anyway. |
Ummmm... "Knock Up Stream"? They do realize what those words mean, don't they? Am I reading too much into this? 0_o;;;;;;;;; |

Well on G4's website they have 3x3 listed in the Anime Current section, so I'm guessing that that will air after one of the ending shows.
If I count right, aren't all of the shows over by January, so what will replace the rest of them? |

Huh, I see that '3x3 Eyes' was supposed to start on November 4. Presumably that means the folks at G4 Tech TV Canada erroneously thought 'Tokyo Underground' would have ended by then? Weird.
Anyway, yeah, 'Requiem' and 'Black Lagoon' will wrap up within a day of each other (due to the latter having only 12 episodes in season one) in early January; let's hope G4 is somehow able to wrangle 'Second Barrage'!
'Tokyo Underground' and 'Last Exile' will finish at around the same time, too, being the longest-running of the late-July debuts.
So we're talking about successors for the following shows, all debuting within about one month:
- Last Exile
- Tokyo Underground
- Requiem from the Darkness
- Texhnolyze
- Ergo Proxy
- Black Lagoon
Even if one of those is '3 x 3 Eyes' and even if G4 was miraculously able to pick up 'Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage', then, that still leaves room for four as-yet-unannounced debuts.
I'd love for one of them to be 'Blood+', given that's probably the highest-profile Adult Swim anime we Canucks aren't getting.
Another possibility, given its similarly high profile with Funimation's DVD releases, might be 'Desert Punk.' I'm not interested, though, having watched it already on DVD.
But I guess it really depends if the now-defunct Geneon can still hold any sway over Anime Current programming choices. If they do, well, I'd be fine with the likes of 'Haibane Renmei' or 'Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo'.

Oops ... just learned how short a run '3 x 3 Eyes' represents ... so really that means at least five as-yet-unannounced debuts within the space of about one month ... and probably six.
Can't wait! |

Yeah, Fuse's scheduling is typically pretty wonky, so my apologies if something slipped under my usually somewhat-omniscient radar. |

I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. G4TechTV has just about depleted all of the shows they acquired through the Geneon deal, and there's a very strong possibility that Anime Current is going to be cut back significantly in the future, or possibly even go on hiatus. I'll refrain from saying anything else apart from the fact that Geneon going under was not a very positive development for the block.
But hey, if any of you have Neilson boxes, or know anybody who has them, get them to tune in. Especially to Black Lagoon. I mean, if you want to see season two. |

| I'm glad E7 is back on the air. I really wanna rewatch it, but I want to rewatch it on DVD (if and when they release a complete collection set) |

The who in the what now? Sure we give them tons of grief, but it is usually earned.

And yet when comparing all the shows they versus we get (even if just repeats) it really seems like a few rounds of "Blame Canada" are in order.
As to Death Note itself, while watching the first batch of episodes I was planning to drop this one. Luckily a stubborn lack of effort paid off. Any series that turns the main character worrying about end-game into yielding one of those delicious wide-eyed-because-I-just-got-myself-killed-takes deserves further watching. Now if only they would get around to introducing the girl from the end of the opening credits. |

Knock-Up Stream is innocent, but 4kids likely would have changed the name.
Very happy to see Eureka Seven back on American television, though I am watching it on adultswim.com these days.
I... felt uncomfortable watching this week's episode (episode 7) of Death Note. It was good and interesting, it's just that Light really disgusts me. I figure that I'll grow to hate him more and more before the series ends, too (this is my first time watching).
EDIT: Oops. I didn't realize that this topic is just a little bit old now. Ah, well. |

| Am I missing something? Just wondering why Sci Fi's monday night lineup is omitted. |

Because Sci-Fi Channel aired that Tin Man miniseries instead of AniMonday last night.

Yeah, I felt the same. Light's the protagonist, but he sure ain't no hero, I wasn't rooting for him in this episode.

Yes, I'm glad to see it back too. The only real problem is that they're STILL using the heart-breakingly short edited OPs and EDs. The dub was shaky at first(Eureka sounded a lot more robotic than usual), so I'm wishing they'd reheasred prior to the actual dubbing to get into the character, so we wouldn't have to go through their 10 episode vocal-finding experience.
Crispin Freeman is solid as Holland from the first episode though! So was Doug Stone with my E7 idol, Stoner. And I think Talho is Kate Higgins' most fitting voice role too. *continues raving about the E7 Dub VAs for a hours* |
