Eyelashes. It is rather rare to see a non-bishōnen male character with such prominent eyelashes.

Man, how tough can it be to adapt something that simple? I understand EVA, but not Astroboy.

Yeah, it is pretty weird. I wonder why they made Astro Boy look like that, because to me that looks like a girl. Not very good work on making him look manly Very Happy

Well, his original look isn't exactly the epitome of manliness to start with.

Big eyelashes, tiny nose . . . not that much different from what IMAGI seems to be going for.

Though I do agree, the top picture of him looks a little creepy . . . I think it's the lips that do it for me. They look a lot less weird in his profile view . . .

It's not his finger, IMO. It's the eyes that convey the power. IMAGI's borrowing from the classic U.S. "Uncle Sam" poster. And Astro Boy's always had the eyelashes (at least from the 1963 version). The scary poster, IMHO, has Astro Boy pointing with Leo from TMNT's crossed arms with the power; "Listen to the little robot... Or Else!" Mad
