I think he's taking himself too seriously on this one.

So let me get this straight, Kite Liberator is actually going to have deep relationship dynamics and character depth rather than people just shooting the daylilghts out of each other?...damnit...no seriously...damnit...

There's going to be an armored sci-fi monster thing in this movie? And CG explosions in space?

Oh, geez, my interest just turned to skepticism.

Yes, it will be a touching family drama. Forget about that kick to the face, that submachine gun, those panties. Laughing

Who wants to bet that the cute guy doesn't make it alive to the end of the credits?

But with that we can reminisce back to good ole days of Star Wars and spoiler[hear that monster say "No Monaka, I am your father."].

What this one have with the first Kite Movie. That one had no parts in Space and the only monsters in that movie were Akai and Kanye.

By the way, are we from now on getting rid of the news stories at the beginning. I don't know if it is just me, but I will miss them.

stopher: I think they're gonna have stories for items which require more than a link and a sentence.

Forgive me for asking, but wasn't the original Kite little more than an erotic shoot-em-up movie? Now suddenly, space drama?

I think the encyclopedia article for KiteL should be fixed. The runtime saying that its 57 minutes might give some people the idea that its a half-baked piece of crap (which it very well may be, I'm doubting Umetsu's ability after I saw some of Mezzo DSA, which is garbage compared to Forte). According to online stores, the runtime is 115 minutes.

No comment on the video cause I don't have time to watch it.

Remember people, everything is better... In Space!!!!!!! Wink

The premise is interesring and if Umetsu can pull it off, it could be awesome as He has done Sci-fi before (Megazone 23 part 2, Gatchaman 93) and He is pulling away from erotica, do remember that the sex scenes in Mezzo Forte we designed to be independent of the show.

It plays out much better than that. There's a reason it's such a cult hit in America...which is pretty much the reason Liberator is being made, if I'm not mistaken.

You're right that it bears very little resemblance to what Liberator seems to be, though.

Holy damn! This looks great (I like emotional stories)! Thanks for the sneak-peek, ANN!

Haven't seen the first Kite though. Can that serial be recommended?

It's on the border line of kiddy porn,so not really.Sawa's age is questionably drawn. There are edited versions though. What's not Ero,is decent.

I saw Kite Liberator at Anime Boston...the plot was so bizarre and disjointed, but I thought it was a lot of fun. The animation and music were very beautiful and high-quality in some places.

It did seem to be only 57 minutes. But after the ending, a lot of people were like, "Wait...that's the end? wtf."

Also, the lolicon and rape in Kite is exactly what makes it so awesome! I was a bit dissapointed by the lack of sex scenes in Kite Liberator. Though it was rather perverted. There's one scene where a guy gets a call, and he's just about to have sex with a girl tied down on a bed with her mouth duct-taped shut. And an underage girl getting sexually harassed at the maid cafe she works at, and a young girl being used as a hostage with some sexual undertones. It was mostly implied, nothing shown. Except one scene where the main character takes off her shirt and her naked breasts are shown (it's only 5 seconds or so long). And it's SPECIFICALLY mentioned that she's under 18.
