All I'm interested in is finding out the specs of the digital download.
This is the make or break for me at the moment, and I'm sure a lot of other people.
Come on Crunchyroll, don't let us down (as BOST TV's downloads have!) |

| Seeing as the majority of Crunchyroll's content is copyrighted and thus illegal to host, I think they will try to be as lenient as they can about enforcing undesirable rules on the viewers. All in all I see this as an opportunity for the industry to catch up with the many fans who seek much more expedient (and inexpensive) means of acquiring and watching anime. |

The press release mentions "select episodes" of the series.
Sorry, but I'm not interested.
This is clearly nothing more than a publicity stunt for the live-action movie (which I suspect to be nothing more than another tribute movie that doesn't know what it's talking about...unless somebody can elaborate to the contrary...).
The way I see it, they should either rebroadcast the series (be it online, on air, or otherwise), or not show it all. We can get the DVDs...
I don't know about anyone else, but for me personally, if this or any show is going to be rerun on television, the internet, or whatever, I want an actual rebroadcast, not a short term publicity stunt designed to sell people on some spur-of-the-moment event (such as the promotion of a movie).
Oh, and before anyone mentions it, I am aware that there have been other publicity stunts of this nature that have been done before. However, that's irrelevant; these aren't other publicity stunts, this is one designed, again, to promote this live-action movie. |

| Wow, Crunchy is on the roll here! Very cool! I hope they get the whole series for digital distribution - I'll download that today! |

It's unfortunate that those bastards are getting so much publicity and are even in good favor with the Japanese companies. If only someone was willing to rain down justice...
As far as downloading Speed Racer is concerned, I'm not interested, if anything I'd buy the DVDs and that doesn't really interest me that much now. Sure, they'd be fun to own but that's about it. |

| I'm kinda surprised about this. I figured Warner would have snatched up the rights. Not that that would matter at all with this outfit, but I would think Warner would have been less likely to give permission. |

well with 4mil to spend, i don't see it as a problem to get product onto their site. whether or not they will clean up the site themselves or wait till they get a friendly email from license holders is a whole other thing. for them to say that they will remove content that is licenses in the US is one thing, but that still means they are illegally distributing product from japan with not royalties going to the original owners.
releasing anime at the same time as japan in my opinion will not really solve the problems of piracy, it will just remove one reason. look at american TV shows, they still show up on torrent sites even though they are free to watch and supported by ads. broadcasting in generally will have to go through a heavy restructuring if they want to protect their product that airs and releases in home media format. it's great that for the price of an internet connection you can get your favorite TV shows with probably a simple search, but it doesn't seem like it's being controlled as well as shows that are being shown on say cable TV where broadcasting rights are bought for a certain time period. |

| Personally, with the upcoming live action movie coming up, I was hoping Speed Racer Enterprises would not only re-release the entire Speed Racer series on DVD, but also throw a bone to the collectors and release Mach Go Go Go subbed as well. I would kill to have Mach Go Go Go on DVD! |

EDIT: Sorry didn't read the linked article!
I'm pretty sure that Lions Gate still owns DVD distribution rights to Speed Racer. It says Speed Racer Enterprises made this deal, but I don't really see Lions Gate sharing a distribution license to promote a Warner theatrical release... Sounds like trouble. |

^ Speed Racer Enterprises own the license so they are the one's who can make this deal.
Anyways seems like Speed Racer is now available to download from Crunchyroll. It also looks like the "special extra" is nothing but a farce. All that you get with the boxset download is badges for crunchyroll. |

Not that I really Care, Speed Racer would not be an anime that I would want to own.
But... I want to know what in Heavens name where they thinking with this New Speed Racer Cartoon on Nicktoons?
My 8 year old could draw better, write better and it saddens me just how bad Cartoons have become...
