| So basically... it's going to cover the same series Animage normally would. I wonder what the difference will be (aside from slightly different ads, I suppose). I like Animage a lot so I'm curious of how this new project will turn out. |

Before Newtype, Animage was one of the core magazines that I always looked for in the kinokuniya. That and the PC-Engine magazine... I used to get a few others too.
I will have to ask them if they will do international subscriptions... A little pricey, but I think it will be worth it for the nostalgia... |

I thought it odd too, as I've always considered Dennou Coil to be essentially a kids show. |

It dealt with concepts of cyber brain that doesn't really make it a "kids show" and the plot and animation also was glorified by otaku. Guardian of the Sacred Spirit was in a similar situation of being glorified by otaku for plot and animation ( especially fight scenes) and also a "kids show" in Japan IIRC. Both would not be considered a "kids show" in R1.
If anything these 2 should see Blu-ray releases because the animation is considered a feast for the eyes. |

It aired at primetime on NHK Educational, had a cast mainly of children, no overt fanservice and a subtitled opening theme. To me, that indicates a show aimed primarily at children.
Yes, I watched it, I even bought it, but then I also recently bought a bunch of dub-only Digimon DVDs. |

| I wonder what kind of article that new Animage will have? I start to prefer Animage over Newtype for its articles. Animage's interviews and critique sections are really good. |
