From the ANNtv - Anime Expo 2008 thread
Since it seems part of the audience can't distinguish Ellie Lee from Bamboo Dong, I strongly suggest ANNtv to start introducing their reporters by quickly showing their names whenever there is a switch. Both are beautiful but they don't resemble each other AT ALL. Could Bamboo Dong's video on AX 2007 be added to ANNtv's library please? |

Man, i think i watched that part of the video 6-7 times now and still haven't stopped laughing. Actually created an accound here to to comment on that after i saw your post on this thread. Dont know if it was your cute laughing, or the mole pig costume. probably both! but it was funny as hell. Definitely have to check out one of these anime conventions one of these days |

My gosh, as if I had any idea what EITHER of them looked like before this! Don't get all bent out of shape. It said "Bamboo Dong doing the interviews" (so naturally I assumed she did all of them), and I wasn't really paying that close of attention to the interviewer, so much as the interviewed!
And yes, you holier-than-thous, I am WELL aware that "not all Asians look the same." What a stupid comment. That's like saying EVERYONE who's not Asian thinks that. Sorry BD, but...wth. >_> |

Seems folks had a lot of fun at the con as always.
Okay gotta love the piano playing plant. I think if had saw that I would have freaked out. But kudos to the all the hard work people put into making their props that go with their costumes. Like the fact that 'Golbez' from 'FFIV' made a cameo. And "RRRRROWL" to the guy with the nice body playing 'Kamina'. I had to take a second look just make sure they were real. Hahahaha! Now if we can get 'Dennou Coil' licensed and out there maybe we'll start seeing some 'Satcchi's out there. Just a thought. |

Ha ha, nice! I'd volunteer to do it but eh, I suck at that sort of thing too much. I mean I'm planning on eventually doing the medicine seller from Monnonoke (have the hair and everything ) but if I ever do either someone's going to make it for me or I'm buying it online (heh, good luck to me to actually FIND it..... ) |

Awww, thank you so much! That makes me extremely happy. <3 Thank you for taking the time to comment!
My friends and I were planning on making a giant Satcchi on wheels, actually, but we ran out of time and budget. I did, however, make a Densuke costume! Here's a photo of it: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v389/pacificpikachu/?action=view¤t=Misc075.jpg I absolutely adore Dennou Coil and I just had to cosplay from it. This costume, along with the Boota one, was also worn at Anime Expo, though only on the last day and only for a few hours. |

It used to be held in the LA convention center as well.

OH COOLNESS!! That's a really nice job! Big too! See we need more "niche" variety cosplay. I look forward to seeing more. Keep up the good work. |

Awww, even better than a Satcchi! That's awesome though, you've obviously got some great talent there that others, such as myself, lack. |

Sorry to bring up the thread from two weeks of silence to reply to this, but ... What's your point? It was there this year too. 2007 was the only time it wasn't in recent years. What does that have to do with AX and what are you bitter about? |

Alright.I've followed E3 since 1995.I was 13 during the first show.I was allowed on the floor in an 18+ environment.(These are the results of my aunt. She can get me into any show in California.)Loved every show (I'm not talkin platonic love,I'm talking kill you with a shopping cart to get into the door kind of love)until I was cut off in 2007.This E for all appears. The somewhat private show that I lived for and grew up with, was gone.No big deal to you right? E3 was the greatest thing for me.My escape, something to work for, a vacation if you will. Now every time I see the LA convention center I get a rush of great memories followed with a cliffhanger of a bad ending.Like any substance abuser, you cut off their stash, they won't be happy about it.My videogame paradise came crashing down in 2007 (hence the word "bitter" I used to describe my personal feeling in the matter) just to be downsized and reopened to the public.I have no interest in public events.AX just happened to be held in that convention center and I was pissed I couldn't get back into E3 2008.I'm very aware of what's going on,I'm just out of the loop.(No time off.)
AX 08's location and my extreme prejudice against cosplayers made me type "I'm still bitter about E3." I'm over it.But I can keep going if you want. |
