| Higurashi movies? Why? The story is complete with the two TV series, isn't it? You couldn't possibly fit all that into a movie, and any more chapters would just be redundant I think. |

Because there's enough demand for a live-action Higurashi that they decided to make one, I guess. In any case, the problem of condensing is hardly anything new. The Death Note live-action films did it with a similar length story. The only problem is that if you don't put all the pieces together in Higurashi, it's not going to work, so the only choice left is to abridge every arc and fit it all in, or leave it hanging inconclusively. |
