| Don't really like the poster. It needs to scream "cool" or "exciting", and it just comes off boring. |

| I REALLY want this film to be good. It has the potential to be something really special. I'm a life long Astro Boy fan and eagerly await the teaser...fingers crossed. |

| I don't like Astro's new look. There's too much relief around his facial features and his eyes are a little small. I've no idea why Matt 'no longer funny' Lucas is in this either. |

Kid movie, this month . . . maybe part of the previews before Bolt?
The board-thing looks okay to me, though I wonder why he's wearing a jacket. |

Must be censorship. You don't want kids being able to see his bare metallic chest. |

If this is anything like Speed Racer, I feel bad for Osamu Tezuka. Though I was really interested in Astro Boy, I sure hope the people in charge don't screw this up.
But exactly why is he wearing a jacket? Censorship is one thing, but this is a little extreame. There are commericals worse than a bare metalic chest. |

| Now that I think about it, the poster reminds me of Jimmy Neutron. |

Probably just updating his look. He often wears school clothes and a jacket in the 2003 animated series, though he usually goes by his classic appearance for action scenes. He also is fully clothed in Urasawa's Pluto manga.
I agree that the poster could have looked more visually appealing, but the way he looks screams "Pixar" to me. Which is never a bad thing, mind you. |

Is a US company or a Japanese company heading this project? Because... I'd imagine it to be a little more faithful looking to the source if the latter.
As it is, it looks like your usual US bastardization, based on just that promo pic anyway. |

Imagi is based in Hong Kong, though a lot of the management staff cut their teeth in US animation houses. |

Haha that promo pic looks like Astro boy is trying to fight back the requisite crook'd smile and eye brow smirk that every modern cartoon character has to have. |

If it's anything like Speed Racer, we'll be lucky. If it's anything like Dragon Ball will probably be, not so much.
Anyway, he looks like Big Boy:

I guess it was inevitable they'd change him in some manner...
I'd like to see this just to find out how faithful they are to Tezuka's original story. But I'll have to bring my younger brother along, I think I'd look a bit strange going into it myself. :B |

I have to agree with that, though Speed Racer was still embarrsing to the orginal series. I cringe when I think of the Dragon Ball movie though. |
