Damn!  The superior team gets one OVA episode (better than none, I suppose) while the inferior one gets the contract for Season 3. When I first saw this story's headline I thought, "No way! They're going to make a direct-to-DVD second season of their own! :O" Yeah: I hoped big and I fell far. -_-;
Edit: No, even that's not true! It looks like this is an OVA by the crappy team. !@#$% !! The original team gets no love ... except from the fanbase itself. I guess "original animation" meant "a side-project" and not "the animation by the original studio," siiiiiigh.  |

"Original animation video" is what OAV/OVA stands for. Since we use DVDs for the most part now, "original animation DVD" can refer to an OVA as well. Sorry your hopes were further dashed by the confusion.  |

can't wait for the third season and the ova. i find myself rooting for fujioka and hosaka a lot. i hope they'll advance their relationship with kana and haruka. well, i have little hope for hosaka but i feel really bad for him. fujioka might have a chance though.
right. i keep trying to look for information on kiddy grade 2 but the most i could find is that 6 minute trailer/pilot or whatever its supposed to be. is there even any release date or any confirmed info. did they even start making it yet? |

I believe this is the third other series to actually get a date after announcing that asread would be animating K-G.2 (Ga-Rei, Minami-ke Okaeri and now this. I can't remember where Okawari fits in) |

StarChild intentionally produces a few shows in which back to back seasons are animated by different studios (this year's property happens to be Shikabane Hime). That's why Doumu handled the original Minami-ke, while asread got Okawari. They planned this arrangement from the start. As for Okaeri, no one knows why StarChild went back to asread instead of Doumu. There could be a whole range of reasons, from scheduling/studio interest to money, but we'll never hear anything. Nevertheless, asread has contracted a new director and writing team (animation has also been outsourced to Doumu, so there might be some artistic similarity to the original), so the new season should be different from Okawari. |
