It's really cool to get a little inside look at a manga club like that in Japan. The photos give a feeling that it would be a cool place to hang out with fellow fans / creators of the art.

It's like...Genshiken, almost!
This makes me SO excited, because Kwansei Gakuin is the first choice I put down on my exchange application. I still haven't receieved notification on which of my university choices I got into, but I'm hoping all the more for Kwansei now. |

but... Japan does have a site similar to Deciant art, it's Pixiv.
Still it was neat, the club sounds kind of nice. (i like that note book thingy, thats a cool idea~) |

Screen toning by hand? Kudos to that. I gave up on it and went digital instead, so I admit their persistence with the craft. 
I'd like to see more articles like this, where we get a glimpse of what clubs and circles in Japan are like. They put out soon many anthologies and doujinshis, it's a very fascinating subculture all its own. |

I would have to agree with you. We could probably also say that Genshiken's atmosphere and setting is a classic example of art imitating life. Only with Genshiken being a bit more exaggerated.
Still, it's always great to hear that the traditional ways of creative expression and manga creation are still upheld and practiced somewhere without the dependency on computers. I think that's a really refreshing and humbling thought. This article was a great great read.

| You're right folks, those photos of the clubroom look exactly like in Genshiken. I'd only add some figurines, but my guess is those are too precious to have in a clubroom.. |

I was just about to mention that. Although, its not quite as sophisticated as DA, though it does seem to be prety popular. |
