I for one was not aware they were a family business of sorts.

I suppose the Americanisation of Japanese animation is indeed acceptable for a dub. Those who'd be most likely to take a negative stance to any alteration in meaning between the two languages can happily read the subs instead. Conversely, those who'd rather not read whilst they watch can enjoy dialogue more appropriate for their own language than what a pure translation would provide.
(Alas, I found the Fruits Basket dub to be a little shrill due to Tohru's voice actress. That said, many female characters are a little too high-pitched for my liking.)

Whoa, I had no idea this Australian ANN that actually has unique content actually existed.

But this is the first I've heard about FUNimation working with Kai, so this is relevant to my interests.

A quiet place admittedly, but one which makes a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the US forum. If you look around, you'll find some new editorial columns which have started up here.

Its been the premise of this place from the start to feature different and new content that our US counterparts don't have. Australia has a surprisingly large anime community if you read into it.
