I dunno, you may be surprised. There were a handful of pretty obscure ones mixed into that list, as well as a few others you might not automatically think of when discussing the "greatest" anime titles. The list was not at all weighted towards newer titles, either; there's probably as many titles on the list from the '80s as there are from the past 4-5 years, and there's probably been as much (or more!) anime produced in the past 4-5 years as there was in all of the '80s.

Now, I'd drop hints, but that would be telling. Wink

Thats really cool if you ask me. In all honesty i prefer manga over a lot of the new things coming out now, and the fact that everything is going digital i'm almost surprised as much manga is being produced as there is. Though i'm not complainaing. lol its just ironic, everything is going digital or is on T.V nowadays but i love just sitting down with some good ol' manga and reading.

Well, I hope that we still get our copy. Since the last one we got was #97. I don't want to complain but the release time for this title are too far in between. I say this because I work for a college library and we have a subscription. During a meeting a library co-worker just happen to bring up the question of why we only got one issue. He felt like nothing was happening. I had to assure him that the reason was that the releases were more quarterly.

I look forward to reading this provided nothing happens to it and it arrives safely.

While the individual issue price with PA here doesn't seem to be a problem at all, the subscription price is ridiculous.

I don't understand your maths.

6 x $8 = $48
Subscription = $30 ($5 per issue)

Where exactly are we gouging people?

I thought it was a good deal...

fully understand the issues at hand for the folks at PA, but "blind faith" is really difficult to do in times in which people are cutting expenses in anime "across the board" as well.

No "blind faith" needed. You just have to take a look at some of the first 97 issues we have released in the past twentysome years to see what kind of work we can produce (there's even some free samples available for download either on ANN's subscribers forum or at www.drivethrurpg.com).

Thats true though i don't really know the history but alot of companies are lowering their standards should we say? so for those who have not been faithfull subscribers isent it kind of blind faith on what people say and your adds? personaly i will probly buy it but thats based on what i'm told here and i would trust a lot of the people here.So i dunno if if you call that "blind" faith but its close to it.

Has this issue been released yet? When I saw it advertised a while ago I was very excited, and it is past the listed release date but I cannot find anything.

Summer is gone and Fall is here. Can anyone at ANN give an estimate as to when this issue might be released? I am intrested in the main theme of this issue and this will be my first exposure to an anime mag.

I wish I had more info, but I only work on the writing end for PA, not the editorial end. What I do know is that I turned in my last few writing pieces for the issue over a month ago, and I think those were some of the last items necessary to complete the issue. Hopefully that means the layout is being finalized and it'll be ready to ship to the printers soon, but as for an exact date, I honestly couldn't say.

What I can, though, is that when it does come out, it will definitely be worth the wait. Very Happy As Theron said, it's a pretty rich and varied list...I'm interested to see what kind of discussions it stirs up.
