Well this is to be expected. I'm sure that this would be targeted to a certain audience, and that audience has more than likely already been reading the manga or seen the anime several times over, with the belief that something like Ookifu would NEVER get licensed.

Sigh. NOT HAPPY.

Sad

I wish there was something that could be done. Too bad.

Oh, the irony that I just started watching this series a while ago on Funimation's youtube. While I'm no sports fan, I thought it was quite an enjoyable show.

Since Season 1 is already out in the US, and they aren't interested in Season 2, there is probably a good chance Crunchyroll will look at it. We might get to see Season 2 yet, albeit sub only.

I'm so disappointed. Big Windup was possibly my favorite find of 2009. Have both boxsets, preordered, and blind bought due to ANNCast and forum feedback. I was really excited when Japan announced season 2 (after a two year hiatus, no less!) and looked forward to picking up the series again from Funi. Sucks.

I kind of expected it too, but isn't it a bit soon to determine if it won't happen? I don't think this series has been on DVD for very long . . . I can't buy every single title I want the second it comes out.

I was thinking of checking out this title on their website or Youtube channel, anyone know how much the ads on those support the companies? I'm thankful for most streams, otaku can't exactly purchase every single title they want to check out.

I am glad to hear that they're retaining FLCL's dub, it's really good.

It makes me mad, but I can understand why people didn't buy it- 50 dollars plus is outrageous for 13 episodes.

I remember getting 26 episodes of Detective Conan for less than 40 bucks.

The FLCL news is good though. FLCL is one of the few dubs I can watch.

Outrageously cheap.

I spent $36/set from Right Stuf. Seems fair.

Guess this shoots down the likelihood of Cross Game ever being licensed here in the states. Sad

I got both sets for $34.99 on Rightstuf. $70 for a newly released 26ep show isn't bad at all to me. Rightstufs holding another sale on FUNI produts, so anyone who wants a deal on it should check it out.

Disappointing news, but I can't say I'm surprised. (I did buy both sets, btw, so I did my part.) I hope that with the second season, there will be renewed interest in the first.

Oofuri is one of my favorite anime series. Such a shame it doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves.
