Why does this remind me of that episode of The World God Only Knows where Keima is trying to complete a game that is known for its bugs?

Why is this a big enough reason to put sales on hold?

White Day is serious business to get chocolates from your virtual girlfriend, that's why.

I'd thought the bug is malicious in nature or something.

In Japan, a bug in your game means they stop selling it. In America, your game can be janky as all hell and actually unplayable after a set amount of time and it wins game of the year.

Fallout New Vegas?
Skyrim?

I don't pay attention to who wins Game of the Year.

This game has a lot more problem bugs and this was probably the last straw of them hearing about complaints from consumers. Would be best to stop selling and start fixing all the bugs so that they can sell fixed copies.

Oh the psychiatrists of Japan will be having a field day.

Lonely boy: "Doctor my virtual girlfriend is acting all strange and refuses to recognise me, and won't accept my gifts. "

Doctor: " Don't worry, it's just a virus, she'll get over it. In the mean time give the poor girl some space to recover. Take a holiday with your mates. Sort out your life. Bloody'ell." Rolling Eyes

You don't know how much I want to see an actual Japanese person say "Bloody'ell" now.

How could they screw up such a relatively simple game? Laughing

BTW, ever wonder why the J-choco companies called it White Day? (No, not that, ya pervs.) It's because they don't want guys receiving chocolate from girls on Valentine's Day to re-gift the chocolate for White Day - they have to buy white chocolate = more sales! Genius!
