3rd place for GTO makes me happy cos im crossing my fingers hoping they go back and re do the earlier volumes tokyopop did.
The world can't be without onizuka after all. |

This list is appalling. GTO and Air Gear (both of which were license rescues) are selling insanely well. Much better than they did before, at that. Air Gear had to be sold in omnibus form because Del Rey deemed it to be a poor seller, but Kodansha just proved that it's all about advertising.
They also sold better than a Black Butler debut, which is pretty crazy. Black Butler fans must be buying it online or something. |

Agreed. I'm very surprised they're selling as well as they are.
DRRR!! I expected (Glad to see Yen fixed that little translation hiccup with Shinra's surname), same for Sailor Moon.
Hopefully this will mean good things in the future for other potential "license rescues." |
