Seeing those screen pics reminded me of Sora no Woto, but with schoolgirls instead of military girls...

Not sure what to think. It looks to be a comedy which Mizushima does well, but it's not his type of comedy. He's more into the spastiic and darker type of comedy. He directed Dokuro-chan, Azazel-san, and Punie-chan as well as the over-the-top Legend of Koizumi, Kemeko DX, and Hare+Guu.
I'll see how the upcoming Joshiraku summer anime does as that will be a lot closer to this project than any of his previous works have been. |

There seems to be a pattern here. First,we have girls who are planes,then we have girls who are guns,now we have girls who either ride on tanks or who are tanks. What next,girls who are cars? Not that that wouldn't be funny but it would also be a little strange.

Wonder what studio is animating this. Looks like Kiyoshi Sugiyama and Takaaki Suzuki have worked on quite a few Gonzo titles in the past... Then again it seems Bandai is promoting it, so it could be yet another Sunrise series.
In any case, this could be an interesting show, as long as it doesn't go into a Upotte-style of "moe anthropomorphism," imo... |

more generic moe military series Japan? What is it this time, cute girls who look like they're not even old enough to join the army that you know uses tanks are more skilled and valuable than actual tank operators just because they're cute girls?

I know this is a weird part to be annoyed by, but shouldn't it be "Mädchen und Panzer"? or "Girls and Panzer"? In other words, why is it in two languages? German and English.
