Man I wish I could go there ._. on the other hand, I would suggest going to the Cartoon Art Museum in San Franciso, it currently is having a Totoro art exhibt with many artists doing rendering of various totoro-like creatures, and it even has a sketch of tortoro by Miyazaki himself. It was really cool I went last weekend.
But I'm glad there's video of it, should be an incentive to want to go there even more I guess. |

| That was a great tour. I liked the water color drawing room that still had the paintings up. Neat too that the old style animation machines still worked. |

Great little video, and I definitely want to visit.
Interesting that Miyazaki is re-releasing Animal Farm from 1954. His wacky politics aside, it's great to see it being revived. |

I went to the ghibli museum when it first opened in 2003. I still have the bumps from that stupid stair case.
When I get a chance to go back to the states. I will look at that museum at SF. |

I went to the Ghibli Museum twice when I visited Tokyo and I loved it. The only bummer was that I couldn't get any shots inside. But you can take pics of the stuff outside. Here's a few of my pics-

Oh wow. I went there when I was in Japan a couple of years ago. The memories are flooding back. Sadly, no photos were allowed inside the museum, only outside, so I haven't quite seen some parts of it for a while. I remember that walkway and that tiny little spiral staircase. Plus waiting in line for the little theater. It's quite a magical place.
Oh and if we're posting photos and all..
Damn I love that Laputa robot! So amazing to see a version of it in the flesh. Or.. er.. metal. |
