The Digmon Manga series (which might technically be termed Manhua? I haven't confirmed the original language) spans adaptations of multiple separate TV series. The 11 volumes published by Tokyopop covered Digimon, Digimon Zero Two and Tamers (according to Wikipedia there is also an adaptation of Frontier - apparently Madman published it but this far I've been unable to confirm this).
Is there any good reason not to split this into separate titles linked to the individual TV series being adapted? |

That spelling doesn't sound like Korean...... yup, Wikipedia confirmed my doubt: it's a Chinese name (余 遠鍠). Further searches confirmed he's an artist in Hong Kong. Another typical inverted name.
The copyright might be more complex than we thought: its Taiwan edition (by Tong Li) has the license info listed as shown:
It looks to me that Toei and Bandai authorized Rightman to adapt the Digimon franchise into manga (or manhua, if you insist the difference). Tokyopop's edition has the same info on the cover but without Rightman; I don't know whether Tokyopop acquired it from Rightman or Toei, though. It's over 3AM here so I'll consult my friends in Hong Kong tomorrow. |

I was limited in time and East-Asian language support in work.
The main issue I was looking at first is whether this should be one entry or multiple. If it stays as one amalgamated entry extra "adapted from" entries can be added for the other TV series. The Japanese Wikipedia entry the Doc linked to only lists the original V-Tamer manga, Next and X-Wars (the latter we actually don't have here, although we have reported on it). I can't find any trace of them on Amazon Japan either. Because the search there is a pain, here are the Chuang Yi product pages: http://www.chuangyi.com.sg/new2/ecatalogtitle.php?title=DIGIMON+ADVENTURE http://www.chuangyi.com.sg/new2/ecatalogtitle.php?title=DIGIMON+02 http://www.chuangyi.com.sg/new2/ecatalogtitle.php?title=DIGIMON+TAMERS http://www.chuangyi.com.sg/new2/ecatalogtitle.php?title=DIGIMON+FRONTIERS For the sake of completeness I've added the Frontier volumes to the (deprecated) volumes list, since they cannot be easily added as releases. |
