Okay, so lately I've heard about the Death Note American remake and they want Zac Efron to play as the main character Light Yagami. Now, I liked the Japanese films and they weren't that bad (If you guys like it as well?), but do they really need to remake a movie.
Okay so comment on this topic if you have a better opinion about this rumour.

This rumour has been around for a while, the other rumour was that he was going play Sagara Sousuke in a live action FMP. Still nothing has hapened, and I won't take much notice until there is some definitive proof.

i keep telling my friends that there will not be a Deth Note remake because the whole film is in Japan and mainly has every thing about Japan so i dont think there will be one!! and if so it better be awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So here's something for it, fan casting, any ideas? If you were to cast right now, I would probably expect Andrew Garfield to be involved. |

Hugh Jackman as everyone. Except L played by Johny Depp.
I am never any good at those hypotheticals of who should be cast. |

i did not know who he was so i googled him and saw that it was the guy that plays house and i was like
OMZ! but i do not think he would be a good girl!! LOL Maybe younger Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift or Amanda Seyfried

I say minimalist use of CGI for Shinigami, the actor for model Ryuk should probably be Jim Parsons, and Hugo Weaving as Saito. I can't think of someone for Rem right now, but for a current placeholder I guess Johny Depp can play it too, he can just put a different funny voice on.

I dunno, if you were going CGI minimal, Bruce Spence would do a good job and his natural height means he has qualification

I think Jim Parsons would make a good Ryuk. I don't know who Rem should be, and would Rem be voiced by a female voice actor or a male? Cause from the Japanese version of Death Note it was a male voice actor.
