Being an Animation/Sakuga fan, I'm so glad to hear that Anime Style magazine is making another comeback. I'm impressed by tenacity of the magazine's chief editor, Yuuichiro Oguro, aka Anime-Sama. Maybe he is testing the water for further publication.
I bought the first 2 issues of 2001 edition as used copies. Also bought first 3 issues of 2011 edition. 2011 editions threw in mini-Nendroid figures, but I care more about magazine's content than toys.
For anyone who is interested in creative process behind anime and its creators, it's a must have magazine. Granted that it's in Japanese, but its content is rich with in-depth interviews and concept artworks & sketches. |

| I completely agree with reanimator. I'm an animation/sakura fan myself and also bought one the first anime style issue back in 2001 and four of last year's edition. These magazines are made with a lot of love for animation and feature interesting interviews with lots of information and a ton of artwork and scetches concerning the process behind making anime. They are far better than the usual commercial animation magazines like Newtype. |
