| I've never heard speak of the first one, and I've only heard little about this, but I'm assuming the "Shin Megami Tensei" in it's title means it's pretty decent. So, has for all who played this already, is it any good? Would I have to have played the first one to understand it? Or is it like the Persona games where playing the previous isn't necessary? |

| I've heard good things about the SMT series of games. Most are Strategy games though, which is not my genre. An RPG sounds interesting. |

I think you got that confused with SRW (which are strategy-RPG). Shin Megami Tensei games are all RPG and great ones at that. |
