Nooooooooooo
Stop writing this crap while people who actually care about characterization and plot don't get published. |

| Why can't the headline ever be "NEWS: Infinite Stratos Novelist Yumizuru found dead in hotel room due to suspected auto-erotic asphyxiation"? That would be the best. |

Well if you'd actually read the novels you'd find there's plenty of characterization and plot. The latter just slowly builds up. |

Bad characterization and plot, perhaps. |

So, the bit I read about Media Factory transferring the rights of the IS back to the author turns turns out to be true. Volume 8 supposedly was finished, but rejected by the MF editor in charge of the novels according to rumors.
Confirmation that he's continuing to write IS doesn't really mean much right now besides giving fans some reassurance since a new publisher hasn't picked the series up.
Pretty excited though since things become a little more serious, plotwise, after where the anime ends. So, interested to see where the novels goes after volume 7.
But, man, he sure is keeping himself busy between IS, this new work and I think he's writing something for a visual novel.

It sure does build up slowly from the tidbits I've read. |

It definitely needs a second season. Seems like the story was just getting started when it ended with a lot of questions still remaining, most of it pinned on the older sister creator of the IS
I was actually a disappointed at the low level of fanservice. Still, the main character was not a doormat for a change (so that removes one argument people always bring up) |

The home media release (OVA included) sort of corrected the low level of fanservice - still not a lot, but it's bumped a notch.
Also, while he was not a doormat, the MC was super dense even though Char did wonder about his denseness during one episode. |

No, he was just a moron. Thankfully, everyone else in the show not named Shinonono Tabane was also a moron, so it evened out. |

Well, from what's been said so far, he seems to only have confirmed that his new work would be published by Kodansha. In light of all the crazy rumours, it will be interesting to see how the next volume of Infinite Stratos will be published and by whom. |
