Why in the world would Sentai get this instead of you know, the good IM@S anime that aired last year.

Guess everyone can see the greatest love story ever told between a girl and a mecha now.

Jk, oh well at least some form of IM@S is headed to the states.

Gotta agree with the sentiment of others. I saw Idolm@ster and got excited then got bummed that they chose the meh one.

Wrong anime, Sentai. I think you meant the one that aired last year.

This one was likely considerably less expensive, and yet will benefit a bit from the popularity of the more recent series.

I don't have any real interest in either series, to be perfectly frank, but among other factors...this title is probably a lot easier/cheaper to license than the other, newer show. Or, who knows, maybe someone else might have already picked it up behind-the-scenes or they're still in negotiations, among other possibilities. Doesn't really matter to me.

What an interesting choice. As long as these series have extremely low minimum guarantees, and they'll be dubless on the cheap, why not? The more titles they can grab that are low risk, the better.

Assuming they don't announce the other series sometime this weekend or before this is released then everyone who wants the A1 series should buy this, also anyone who wants the Video Games localized should buy this. This might be the first small step in getting a whole lot more of the franchise.

I want the Idolmaster game to come over here, but not enough to buy this bastardized version which has nothing to do with the actual franchise (they don't even use the same art and seiyuu). Its like some bad fan fic or something. It absolutely bombed in Japan too, for good reason: Its junk.

Would rather have the PROPER Idolm@ster series, but presumably the rights to that cost one heck of a lot more!

I have some minor interest in this because I want to see if this anime starts out good and goes to crap like seemingly every Sunrise anime between 2003-2011

I love how butthurt people get over Xenoglossia.

Xenoglossia was a fun mecha show, sure it really had nothing at all to do with iM@S, but so what?
