Yamaguchi is a great get for that con. He's one of the best voice actors in the industry, in my opinion.
Wendy Powell, on the other hand... |

"This will be his first east coast appearance, his only other guest appearance at a North American anime convention was at Otakon 2008."
I think you meant west coast. Otakon is east coast, Sakura-con is in Seattle -- almost as west as you can get without going to Hawaii |

| Saw this a few days ago. Cool beans. I'm already going to SakuraCon, and Kappei Yamaguchi is a cool guy. I'm sure lots of Death Note fans and the like will be there for him, but I'm psyched because he's RANMA. I should find my old Ranma stuff for him to sign. I keep forgetting to get cool voice actors to sign stuff. |

Hey, I'm happy she's coming- I can get Al and Envy this year! My FMA autograph collection grows!
While I'm very, very happy for Mr. Yamaguchi ('bout time SC 09 booked a Japanese VA), I'm worried for the line- Ranma AND L? I'd better charge my DS & PSP, plus bring some snacks... |

I didn't much care for Powell's Envy. It was probably due to Mike McFarland's awful directing, but it seems she couldn't decide whether Envy is a male or a female, because he spoke with a different gender tone in every other line. That got very annoying.
My opinions of the FMA dub aren't exactly popular, though. |

I've got sort of a mini-project going... in the FMA DVD booklets, there's a 2 page bio for 2 of the characters per booklet. My goal is to get all those bios autographed by their VAs. (I'd like the Japanese ones too, but I know that ain't happening, so...)
So, despite any issues I may have with the voices, any opportunity to add to my 'collection' is good. (I'm a LOT more excited about getting Aaron's autograph, though.) |
