As has already been stated it's not fandom that is more male dominated but where you go for fandom.
Still while I am not surprised there are more guys here I am a bit surprise at the percentage. I was expecting at least 60 to 40.
And I added to the female count.

The anime podcast is mostly male, what do you know. 
Nah, I'm just being sarcastic, but where I live there are actually more girls who like anime than guys.

Yup thats the case here too. Most guys stopped caring after 13 when they grew out of DBZ and yugioh, but girls continue to this day, plus they read manga a lot. Its kinda surprising how more chicks like anime/manga than guys at older age
