Seriously, I don't either. They transformed a family friendly figure into a angsty hard rocker. This is one of these times where I am shaking my head in disbelief.

Oh man... I need to make fun of that in my novel... Where a character uses a variation of the analogy "When pigs fly" by saying "When Hello Kitty becomes a punk rocker" with another character saying "Hello Kitty did become a punk rocker." Or something along those lines.

There have been punk and goth Kitties for a while now, so this is just another incarnation to add to the list.

Because it's a first time collaboration between Sanrio's Kitty and the real life japanese band "X Japan."

She's being used on the X Japan World Tour posters. That's also why this is a big deal. Check it out on the main X Japan website:
