So I'm guessing it's the RX-78-2 like always. I guess it's 1:1 at 18 m, though MAHQ lists it at 18.5 m. Close enough. I just wish they'd do something other the iconic piece of crap that lost it's head at A-Baoa-Qu. I guess Zeta or Nu would be a lot harder, Nu being 23 m. They're both much better looking (and better overall) Gundams. Oh well. I hope this thing is permanent.

Especially from angsty teens with no piloting experience, eh? All we need now is a war with the Principality of North Korea.

Somebody built a big Zeta in 2004/2005 somewhere... I saw it on TV but didn't retain the info. |

So is this like, RL(real life)-grade?
AW-grade? (actually works)
TETAO-grade (too expensive to actually own)
You know what would be totally awesome: If Tokyo gets the summer olympics in 2016, most of the new venues will be on Odaiba (There's a space near Big Site that is specifically where they are planning a giant new stadium, I'm pretty sure), so on long shots of the regatta we might see a giant gundam looming in the background |

| Why is the RX-78-2 holding a naked toddler? Really, I mean, why? |

Maybe because it is the first Gundam ever to exist. Show some respect for the grandfather of all Gundams, would ya? |

Number one: it is a naked toddler. I don't know about you, but I don't remember many naked toddlers appearing in the Gundam franchise. Though there certainly hasn't been a dearth of naked angsty teenagers......
Number two: the baby hasn't got a helmet, or a spacesuit for that matter.
Number three: the toddler is naked. Is that the sort of picture that comes to mind when people think of the Gundam franchise? I am starting to question if I should really be a part of this utterly weird section of fandom.
Number four: the franchise is now thirty years old. Surely that young toddler should now be a disaffected member of Generation X. |

I like the RX-78 as much as the next /m/an, but I'd respect it a whole lot more if Bandai wasn't all "NEW RX-78 REPAINT, BUY BUY BUY" with it's model sales. Sure it's iconic... it's also beaten to death. |

Now that is totally awesome! There was a shopping mall had one that was pretty big up displayed a banner for the Olympics I believe recently. I think the Japanese should leave this one up or move it to a National Park along with making statues of other giants from Japan since they are 'history' of Japan.
(sic) The second reason is so those he survive the post-apocalypse of 2012 who are all learning a new language and way of life can have something to worship. |
