Its like Madoka with far better character designs. This is one of my most hyped shows in the future.

Aoki's designs weren't THAT bad.

I'm curious to see what the plot is going to be about. The character designs looks good, but if the story doesn't interest me, I won't watch it.

Is Blue holding a guitar?
Red having nothing but fists?
Green having a bow?

Symphogear + Madoka?
Don't know if want.

Could be awesome.

I'm waiting for this to be a typical Magical Girl show just to troll people expecting another Madoka.

But I'll be laughing if that happens because I love both Madoka and typical Magical Girl.

I think you mean "with far more generic character designs"

Are all future SHAFT news articles going to be labeled as Madoka Magica's SHAFT?

For a while, probably. Not everyone pays nearly as much attention to animation studios as some of us do, so many people might not have any idea who they are (other than maybe vaguely hearing about them before) without that note. I'm pretty sure you saw similar things when Haruhi aired and probably when Evangelion first came out. Pretty sure I saw FMA mentioned next to Bones a lot as well. You can see it all the time with smaller shows and studios too.

I kinda agree. The characters are cute but Madoka's Aoki's wideface was charming.

Never been a fan of wideface. From an attractiveness point of view, the wideface was what kept Madoka from being an amazing anime to me. If it used designs more like this it would have been a 10/10 instead of only a 9/10.

Can we not argue about the Madoka character designs in the Prism Nana thread?

I thought you didn't like Madoka because GRIMDARK.

It's an original magical girl show by SHAFT. The comparisons are gonna be inevitable.

I'm sure I'll hear numerous opinions on the quality of said show when it's being produced so I won't worry about if I should watch it or not till it's finished and there's a consensus.
I will say that I am predisposed to liking Fire-Girl rather fiercely, and I hope she is a good character.

I'm actually really happy that the anime designs pretty much are spot on with Kantoku's sketches that were shown earlier. I guess this confirms that he is the anime character designer too?
