Congratulations Hayao Miyazaki, Studio Ghibli and Katsuihiro Otomo and the rest of team behind Steamboy for winning these awards.

By the way does anyone know what the next Ghibli project is and whether Mr Miyazaki will retire or work in a more minor role?

Additionally, Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle won the Audience Award for Best film.

Katsuihiro Otomo's Steamboy won the Gertie Award for the Best Animation Film.

This is great news but I wonder which award is more prestigious.

Whatever happened to: it's an honor just to be nominated?

I think it is a wondeful thing for Miyazaki sensei to win such a prestigious award. He definitely deserves it for making such top notch films that inspire others. Definitely well deserved. Wink

In that list of winners it also says that "Ghost in the Shell 2: Innoncence" won the Orient Express Casa Asia Award.

Hum...Don't get me wrong. The titles won by Howl's Moving Castle and Steamboy were from special juries...There were other asian films that won better awards, given by the main jury.
