| I can't wait to pick up this volume. Hayate the Combat Butler is my favorite manga currently and is one of the few I'll actually go out and buy all the volumes of and continue to do so. |

I'm happy that they are continuing to review this series. It's pretty funny, although I do have the problem of forgetting some of the minor character's names and backstories.
Maybe it is because of what the reviewer stated: "Then there's the ho-hum sense of character design as well: there may be enough distinguishing features to identify Hayate and friends (and, say, a carful of assassins), but no one really stands out, as everyone's drawn from the same general face template."
Oh well, maybe the anime adapation is a bit easier to follow; haven't started it yet. |

| I agree with the end negative that the series too often plays it safe with the plot and characters. The series has definitely found its success formula with wacky humor and love polygons, but I find it hard to care about the characters when there's supposed to be so much emotion between them but so little growth toward anything. |
