I will definitely be ordering Mawaru Penguindrum on Blu-ray, but that's the only item of interest.

I wonder if Mayor Bloomberg would approve of Qwaser of the Stigmata.

The Trails in the Sky BD is the only thing I'm really interested at this time. Idolm@ster Xenoglassia, Penguindrum, and Qwaser of Stigmata can wait for complete collections. Letter Bee and Kobato are maybes.

He's too busy banning large sodas to approve of it.

Hmm, well nothing from Sentai for December that I want to grab then. Maybe, MAYBE Ninja Scroll down the road. Already have Abenobashi from when ADV got it, so I might grab it for collector's sake.

Haven't watched Pengiundrum so that is still up in the air if I want to buy it or not.

Oho, nice! An Abenobashi re-release! I already have the show, but for how particular I am about comedy, this is one show that I just laughed out loud while watching. Then marathoned it with friends in college.
Ninja Scroll is also a fun movie, when I look at what anime were available in early VHS, this must have been an absolute oasis. Clearly not for the squeamish, but definitely for those who want just pure action.

As for me, well I collect the Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee manga, so the anime is kinda like an automatic pass.
Glad to see they're dubbing Penguin Drum, though I'm not 100% sold as I only found Utena to be average (not bad, just average), but one of my main complaints with Utena was that I thought it would've worked better as 26 eps, and here is Penguin Drum clocking in at 26 eps or so, right? I'll have to think about it, and not get any opinions from huge Utena fans because, no offense, but they'll probably be a bit biased.

Ninja Scroll BD
Penguindrum BD

I do want to see Letter Bee and Kobato at some point, but I haven't yet watched them, thus have no current plans to buy.

For what it's worth I thought Utena was waaaay too long, too (see talkback thread for Shelf Life for it from a few months back....) and I loved Penguindrum. It's a different kind of show with different themes. I'll probably never watch Utena again. I'll definitely rewatch Penguindrum, more than once.

Of course Qwaser is my number one want. Occasionally, I decline to state the obvious.

As much as I dislike double-dipping, I will get the Ninja Scroll BD if reviews indicate that it does indeed have significantly improved picture quality over the DVD (already own the 10th anniversary special edition).

I did not know Sentai got Mawaru Penguindrum, I will probably get that but I'll wait for the complete collection on BD.

Why do they charge so much for a sub-only release? Really, $50 for 13 episodes, that's even more or just the same amount for a dub release. Sorry to say, nothing special sub-only releases are not worth that much.

The confusing part is that it's 10 dollars less than their standard new dubbed DVDs and 20 dollars less than their BDs and over time, the actual retail price of the subbed shows plummet while the dubbed shows prices remain high.

There's a lesson here, somewhere. And maybe they'll learn it some day.

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on Penquin Drum and Ninja Scroll while I curse my barebones thinpack release of Abenobashi. It's not worth replacing but I wouldn't mind hearing how Luci Christian came up with that voice.

I'm not sure which DVD that is, but I've skimmed through the BD and the picture quality is great. Were those DVDs ever cropped to 16:9? Because the BD is 4:3.
