Sad news, the loss of many to that type of cancer seems to be happening often. The loss of a contributer to the anime community is a loss to us all. Condolences out to his family friends and coworkers.

Aye, sad news, and dubbed anime will be all the poorer for it. May his soul rest in peace, and may his surviving family, and friends find strength to endure this loss to us all.

I loved the script in School Rumble's English adaptation; he will definitely be missed.

It's so sad! Why do all the cool people get cancer? I love Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Mushi-Shi and XXXHolic, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle being my favorite of those three. Too many anime and manga related deaths this year, as in writers. It's making this year a sad one.

Ugh, that's so sad. And he wasn't very old, either! Sad

Wow, that's depressing. A blow to his family and Funimation alike, to be sure. Some might complain about their liberties, but I absolutely adore the vast majority of their dubs and script changes (Wallflower certainly comes to mind as a show where the dub completely changed my opinion around xD)!

Very sad. We shouldn't even be having so much cancer, but with all the chemicals we've synthesised in the name of economic growth, I'm not too optimistic for the future.

My condolences to his friends and family.

Indeed. But may he rest in peace and may his family be able to find peace. Exceptionally sad, especially since he had a wife a kid.

RIP Spencer, one of the truly fine writers and actors around... as a writer of several shows like Trinity Blood and BECK, you were a true inspiration to others as well as hopeful storytellers such as myself.
