@penguintruth: Heavy-handed can mean oppressive or harsh, which I took his comments on the state of the animation industry to be. I did not say that his comments were controversial but that they were critical, as it can be taken that he was being critical of the animation industry at the time of his commentary.
The second quote was meant to shed light on some of his personal views on the relation between his art and the world, and my apologies if I wrote in such a way as to make it seem as though it were related to my comment on his being critical of the industry - that was not my intention. |

My response was one of sarcasm. Aside from Kikaioh's well-considered post, I've yet to really read a post that expresses why Miyazaki acted "childish" and should be deported (really, what?!). |
