How do we enter the contest more than once? It says I can't submit another entry.

Technically they probably are going to be more senryuu than haiku. My Japanese teacher gave me a hard time about what is and isn't haiku. My question is, can we submit Japanse language haiku/senryuu, or only English?

That is a thing Dr Keene pointed out in the lecture.
Did you compose haiku about the beauties of nature in Tosa when you were in Nankoku, Califf-sensei? (^―^) |

lol, no, though I've made a few amusing poems here and there. I sometimes jot things down during boredom at work. この会議 詰らないので 帰りたい |

Oh, Perhaps you should have visited Matsuyama, which Shiki and Kyoshi were born in, and composed some haiku when you were in Shikoku. (´∀`)
You might also want to read Saka no Ue no Kumo.
How about 投句 contributing it to the senryū section of a haiku magazine in the States? (⌒_⌒) (If you don't use a pen name, your boss, who chaired the 会議, may be going to say something to you when he reads it, however.) You might be able to become an Amy Lowell of the 21st century. (^―^) Amy Lowell's Perched upon the muzzle of a cannon A yellow butterfly is slowly opening and shutting its wings was inspired by Buson's '釣鐘にとまりてねむるこてふ哉'. Since recently I re-read some essays by Kōda Rohan, I also re-read works by Kōda Rohan on Bashō and Sarumino.
露伴の隨筆の面白さは異常 By the way, I have seen a Nintama Rantarō haiku in a haiku thread of 2ch's College Life board:

Oh, I want to win so unbelievably much! I don't even need the boxsets---I'll be buying those anyway---but the autograph! Oh how I want it As this is going to close right before my birthday, I cannot express how perfect a birthday gift this would be to me. I've had a very rough year with little signs things will improve next year, so this would truly be a lone beacon of hope for me! Wow, I sound pathetic... well, I hope that my feeble attempts at poetry grant me one wish. *crosses fingers*

Will the winners be chosen randomly or through the judges' consensus?

A few questions, before the contest ends! When are the results announced, are the haikus selected based on quality or picked at random, when do the prizes ship out, and do only the winners hear if they were chosen? Gosh, I want this so much! I even re-watched the show to see if I could come up with any new ones 0///0

A haiku by Bashō,
道のべの木槿は馬にくはれけり Professor Basil Hall Chamberlain had translated it as: The mallow flower by the road was eaten by a passing horse. But Dr Keene Donald translated it as: Mallow flower By the side of the road―― Devoured by my horse In order to understand this haiku, you have to know Bái Jūyì's '槿花一日自爲榮', though. |

( ´,_ゝ`)プッ I think now I can see Professor Kuwabara Takeo's 'The Secondary Art' in another light. |

Nice job. I really liked all of them. If these are being sent to Ryoko Ikeda she'll be pleased.
"Cray, cray?" Oh gawd. Good job everybody. |
