Oh no, why doesn't he make some new animation series instead
Japanese acting often is horrible and anime directors tend to have an approach to live action that actually only works with animation. |

His fans will be so disappointed. After all, they like their girls in 2-D.
But I hope to check this out someday. The premise sounds kinda Toradora-ish. |

I attended a screening of Hula Girls in an asian film festival several years ago. The film is a decent representation of Japanese live action.
All of your comments reminded me of this film.
I suggest you check out this film if you want to see stereotypes and overused tropes, common with anime, played out in live action. Its not a cringe-worthy film; only a very predictable one.
You may expect an anime director may turn out a film like Hula Girls, but I hope to be surprise. |
