I remember him as voices in Cosmic Baton Girl Comet-san and Vision of Escaflowne. One of the few male names that ever caught my eye right off the bat. He will be missed.

My condolences and thoughts go to his family. The third voice of a character is the longest running anime joins his deceased predecessors.
