I think it might be worth owning a copy. I wasn't keen to buy it right away, since it'll probably look better on Blu-Ray (the only hitch there is currently not having a Blu-Ray player), but winning it would be different.
Aside from wanting to have a copy of the movie, I'm also curious as to how Funimation handled the English dub. Hopefully, it's at least a slight improvement on ADV's. |

Oh, it's far more than a slight improvement. In my opinion, the Funimation dub just blows the ADV dub out of the water. The ADV dub now just sounds bad in comparison.
The acting for the most part sounded much more natural than it did in the TV series, and the new voices worked quite well. Also, Allison Keith's Misato sounds even better (which is saying a lot, I love her Misato just as much as Mitsuishi's Misato)
I have a feeling that I'll be watching the dub just as much as I will the original Japanese version - and I never watch dubs.
Even though I'm planning on getting the Blu-ray, I entered anyway. Long live Eva! |

Like most, I plan on holding out for 1.11 (Blu-ray in my case), but it wouldn't hurt to win this version as well. I liked the slipcover that they used on this release, and I'm hoping that they go the extra mile for 1.11's release in the spring.
And yeah, the FUNi dub is major improvement over the previous dub. Saw the movie up at the Alamo Drafthouse at West Oaks Mall. Great experience, and I'm looking forward to watching 2.0 there as well. |

| Has that been announced? 1.11 for the international or at least US release? If that's true then I might hold off on getting the 1.01 Blu-Ray since I hate owning copies of the same thing on DVD and Blu-Ray unless there's different stuff like the FFVII AC Blu-Ray. Hmm... |

I just entered after fixing my E-mail for my account so maybe I'll even be notified if I win! I just realized today that I've had my old E-mail account information in my profile for months after changing it. Urk! Man I hope they never tried to get in touch with me for a contest! 
I'm thinking of just getting both 1.01 and 1.11 so if I could win one it would really make that scenario easier. |

Was very pleased they showed it in theatres in Oct, Evangelion is my favourite anime series of all time. First time I saw it was when it was fansubbed back when RM was a video format that was actually used  |

Yeah, 1.11 has been confirmed for a release over here on both DVD and Blu-ray for spring 2010. |
