Fate/stay night was almost certainly not cell animated. For shows that were cell-animated they can remaster from the original film (not the cells themselves) because the resolution of film is higher than that of DVD. For digitally animated shows that were made in SD the only way to produce an HD master is by upscaling - however F/SN was apparently animated in HD anyway.
I took "re-edit and re-shoot" to be the same as what they did with the Kiddy Grade movies - re-edit the existing footage and re-animate a few scenes. |
