Ok, I'm going to be blunt here. I'm not pleased that Valis X was used as an example as part of the Nihon Telenet catalog acquisition. Fans of the original Valis Quadrilogy despise Valis X with a passion because not only does it have nothing to do with the theme of the original games, but it was for PC only and catered only to the lowest fanbase.
The original Valis games had their share of fanservice, but they weren't porn! And for the record, I'm glad that the Nihon Telenet catalog was rescued by Vic Ireland. The news of that acquisition made my week! |

I continue to be bored and baffled by the constant drip feed of hype for Final Fantasy XIII. The game looks just awful in terms of story and gameplay when compared to FFXII, technical prowess or not. All the trailers seem to consist of nothing but whining/shouting and crying in a needlessly OTT manner. I'll probably pick it up for my PS3 at some point, sure(Can't see any reason to get the 360 version for this one, as the PS3 one seems like the better bet with the multi audio and uncompressed sound and video in addition to no disc swapping), but in all honesty, this is my least anticipated FF title of all time.
As for Sakura Wars, that's a bunch of crap about the Wii version getting screwed on the dual audio. Looks like I'm going old school(PS2) for this release after all. Also, I question the relevance of listing House of the Dead Overkill on this site as well. It wasn;t exactly overlooked for one, it's just like most good Wii games, no one cared because it was a GAME and not some weight loss garbage or "lifestyle program". At retail, it actually did alright when compared to high profile failures like Madworld as I recall. |

It is a little weird when you think about it. The name "Sagitta" means arrow. Cheiron, on the other hand, was a centaur who got hit with a poison arrow and died. Is NISA trying to same something there? At least they changed her last name to the more believable sounding "Archer." I mean, how many black women living in 1920's Harlem had the name "Weinberg"? |

Uhhhhh, what possible reason could there be for this. I was on the fence about this, just because I haven't bought a Wii game since Brawl. They just pushed me off. |

Both Amazon & Gamestop have the Wii version of Sakura Wars at $50 and the PS2 version at $40. Maybe they just haven't updated their prices?

I made the mistake earlier this week in looking at all the Final Fantasy XIII previews I could lay my eyes on. Never have I looked at my Wii with such hatred, especially when what we get is the Crystal Bearers.
Not giving up hope, but I see a PS3 in my future simply for XIII. FMVs aside, the game's getting stellar feedback on its game play. It's a shame Muramasa's not doing well, but given the Wii's audience, I can see why. However, button mashing titles don't do well regardless, and there's nothing special in this game to get past this label. The "boss" fights have been stellar so far, but getting to them leaves one desiring for more than "see enemy, press A repeatedly, rinse, and repeat until boss is found" sequences which tire after 10 minutes. Get this title for $20, but nothing more. Let's hope 2010 brings better titles for the Wii. So far, my investment in this system hasn't returned anything great outside of Metroid Prime 3. |

Ding! Sold! As for the Wii, really I just play it for the Old School games. Yeah Crash and the Boys! Although I did get the FFIV sequel which I haven't touched yet. Curse you Borderlands! But definitely excited for the new FF. And just you wait, Sheep Man will turn out to be the hardest of all the robot master yet! And what's wrong with Cut Man? Without Cut Man, we may never have had Quick Man. |

Glad to see Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume getting some love. I took a chance on getting it when it came out, being my first venture into Valkyrie Profile, and it paid off. I beat it three times right in a row to get each ending and then get Seraphic Gate (which of course I gave up on because of how hard it was). I remember when I played it the first time, I didn't plume anyone because I wanted to play the good route. I also didn't know how to get the double sin bonuses and frequently failed to get the required sin for a stage, which makes Hel or whomever pissed at you and start making doppelgangers. Man did I not realize I was choosing the hardest path by not pluming everyone, but I managed to beat it and it felt good! The storyline was pretty good too, but I was sad that all character interaction was lost when you went from chapter to chapter. The characters that you deal with in, say, Chapter 2 will only have plot interactions in Chapter 2 and never for the rest of the game. That's my only gripe. Expect a lot of deaths though.
Wish I could have seen how much voice acting was also in the game, though you still get voice acting when the characters attack. -- I am also happy to see Knights in the Nightmare on that list, because 3 weeks ago I decided to buy it off eBay on a whim because I like 'tactics' strategy games. |

To all those buying Retro Game Challenge: be sure to e-mail/show your receipt to this guy to get a Haggle Man button shipped to you absolutely free (be sure to tell him which pose!). Or alternatively you can request for the Guardia Quest button instead. AND HOW CAN YOU NOT MENTION ETRIAN ODYSSEY 3 Todd? |

Shame they cut the Japanese disc for the Wii. Though at least it survived on the PS2. Since I don't have a Wii yet anyway, I'd be getting that version from the get go. So thankfully nothings changed for me there.
Thanks for the Overkill recognition. I have a friend practically obsessed with it, and it's one of the few games I'd buy a Wii for. It's hilariously fun. |

Or maybe YOU are one of those and you don't realize it FFXIII would be nice for PC though, so that I don't get stuck replaying old games forever. Too bad the likelihood of that isn't very high. |

This is greatly disappointing that the Japanese audio version has been canceled for the Wii version. I was looking forward to the Wii-enhanced experience, but now I'll have to buy the PS2 version instead.
I do remember Fist of the North Star for NES, I remember when I was little having the game switched due to the exploding heads... |
