| While all the deaths were bad, Kazuhiko Katoh's was the most important in my life. I thought the guy did amazing work in Macross. | |||

| Yoshito Usui's death is the one I remember the most. The poor guy fell off a damn cliff! That's no joke.
Hike with a partner, folks. |

| Well, they're all sad, naturally. But personally, the two who I wish had lived longer are Kaoru Kurimoto and Takahiro Yamato. I hate it when authors die with unfinished work. It's that much sadder and highly irritating to those who wanted to read the rest. It sounds insensitive, I suppose, but it's true nonetheless. I particularly liked Kaze no Stigma. And now we'll never know how it was supposed to end. This is just sad all around, though some of these folks were old enough that it's pretty normal and not to be unexpected. | |||

| In terms of deaths in the anime world, the death of Yoshito Usui in 2009 would be the one I'll remember the most. It was sad that a creator of a popular manga like Shin-Chan would die in such a gruesome death.
In general, Michael Jackson's death is the one I'll remember the most in 2009. And considering his use of anime in his music video for "Scream", his death might be considered as part of the deaths in the anime world after all. May all of their souls rest in peace. |

| Looks like the anime/manga world had it pretty easy. I have no idea who any of those people are.
2009 was quite a year for celebrity deaths. I was honestly expecting someone huge (like MJ huge) to die on NYE just to top it off. |

| When you get my age, and you hear about all these deaths of people that have been around for years, it makes you feel really old.
But at the same time it makes you think about and appreciate life a little bit better, even though the news of deaths is always sad. All these people will be missed. |
