| A lot of franchises seem to be going the movie route in 2010. I wonder if there's a specific strategy behind it or if it's just sheer coincidence. |

I mentioned previously that Sōkyū no Fafner: Dead Aggressor: Heaven and Earth is listed as a movie by certain Japanese listing sites, although ANN has it as a TV series.
Are they 1 and the same, or is there a TV series as well as a movie in the works? |

Same question here. The article made me confused as to whether or not Heaven and Earth is a movie or TV series. |

They are apparently the one and the same. Some sites like Moon Phase predicted that it was a film, based on clues like Angela's website (which said that the band will sing the "theme song" and not the "opening theme" or "ending theme") and Ubukata's credit (as "screenplay" and not "series script supervisor" or "scenario coordinator"). However, no one connected to the production stated this on record until Yamada did on Sunday.
When an anime's format is unknown, ANN Encyclopedia defaults, most of the time, to the format of the previous anime (in this case, the Fafner TV anime). Now that we have the first indication of the format, Heaven and Earth's encyclopedia entry has been updated. |
