ummmm....
the fig is nice, pose-able and all that....
just wanted to add this,....
when i was like 4, or 5 years old, i got for a toy Mr. Mazinger himself.
he was 5-6 inches tall, looked just like he did in the show i.e. accurate...
and was 90% made out of heavy steel.
with only his fists and that red attachment wings made out of plastic.
he had moveable limbs, but no where near as poseable as this fig in this article...
but hear is the super cool thing about the toy i had....
his fists, would shoot out by the press of a button on each of his forearms!!!!
and when i say shoot,
i mean they would eject with a serious force+distance thanks to the springs in his fists that would be suppressed by his forearms when attached to the figure.
just...awesome!
this toy was in the shelves of a big local store around where i lived.
they had Mazinger and all the other giant robos+monsters of the show.
the box they came in was 100% in japanese.
apparently imported straight from japan.
i loved that lil' toy.
i just wish i had some of the other fanfare toys of Mazinger show at that time.
when was this?
1979.
if i still had that toy.
and was in prestine condition...
considering the rarity in the states of an imported toy from japan from the year 1979, and Mazinger no less...
i think it be worth a pretty penny right about know.
sorry for necroposting, but, this article/figure touched my nostalgic side. awoke some long lost memories.
i also had a over 1 foot godzilla and the creature from the movie Alien...
the godzilla from the late 70s is worth about 150 bucks, and the alien about 200...saw it being sold in NYC store for that much...
but as a kid being a kid, i played+broke+threw away bothXP
when you pressed a lever on the back of Alien's elongated head, his second small mouth would come out of his mouth, and when you pressed a lever, his fiery tongue flicked out.
the greatest toys i've ever seen as a kid was the star wars 2 feet tall figures.
my cousins had princess lea, luke, darth, c3po, and chewie.
but, they were high quality because they had there clothes made out of cloth instead of plastic.
but the princess lea one..was the greatest.
because on top of her beautiful white gown made from real cloth, her hair was made out of real black hair!
and of course, her hair was braided and bunned on the sides of her head, just like the movie.
of course.
now thats a true collectable!
super duper uber rare.
probably worth in the thousands of dollars due to there uber rarity.
i'm sure the they threw them all away loooooong ago. LOL!
