| ANN makes every attempt possible to keep inappropriate ads from being displayed on our website. We do not allow any ads that are obscene, nor do we allow ads that are excessively mature (as a general guideline, we allow ads that would be considered PG-13 as over 99% of our visitors are over 13).
Please note, we do allow ads for pornographic / adult content provided the ads themselves are not pornographic and that there is an age-gate between ANN and any material that is not suitable for minors. While ANN vets all ads submitted by our direct clients (those that we sold advertising to directly), we uses several advertising networks to fill remnant inventory. These networks, which include Google Adsense, Tribal Fusion, and others, occasionally show ads that we would not generally permit on the website. Should you wish to report and ad that is inappropriate, please post the following information here, or e-mail it to [email protected] Posting the information here is preferable to e-mailing it. Please include the following 1) if possible, a screenshot of the ad, or the entire page 2) the website that the ads take you to when you click on it 3) your geographic location (state/province in USA/Canada or Country) 4) *VERY IMPORTANT* the information supplied in the "ads by:" line at the bottom of the page (ex: "Ads by Gorilla Nation Performance & FUNimation Entertainment") on which the inappropriate ad occurred. 5) Advanced: if possible, the DOM source of the ad Without the above information (#4 in particular), there is very little we can do to find the ad and block it from the website. Please use this thread to report invasive ads (pop-ups, sound on load,etc...). |

| Was that a Mangafox ad I saw on this site's front page? I thought they were a scanlation site, or did they recently go legit-ish?

| Nope, they're a scanlation site allright. They were coming up on Manga UK's site until I reported it to them, and I had one come up on a company's official Youtube channel the other day also. | |||

| Kind of a general ad question. What is selecting the ad, and how does the selection process work? Obviously ads that aren't approved by the site administrators show up, as evidenced by the Mangafox ad, so ultimately actual control of ads is outside your control? Just kind of curious because when I was using ebay, I noticed ads for a Christian charity organization, and then saw an ad from the same company on ANN. So the ad selection engine is apparently entirely 3rd party in determining what ads actually pop up.
But there might be mixed messages if a religious organization is displayed on ANN. I have no problem with the company itself, but preserving an image of neutrality on political and religious groups seems to be key on ANN. The company in question has a crucifix as it's logo so it's hard to deny it's a strongly Christian funded company (it very much is a Christian funded and run charity organization with religion as its central mission and objective). |

| Along the lines of Past's question, what about the ads on the videos? While not entirely inappropriate, I got very annoyed with seeing condom commercials 5 times per episode for multiple episodes of Romeo x Juliet. | |||

| With ads by Google you get served ads based on your page contents - hence Mangaf*x being displayed here and on Manga.co.uk
You can block specific ads in the google control panel, which is designed to prevent ads from your competitors appearing on your site. |

| That charity organization probably popped up here because I actually went to their website after seeing it on ebay.
I saw it and went, hmm that looks suspiciously like a Christian site. So of course I had to verify my suspicions by visiting the site. Curiosity killed the cat, I guess Edit: btw the name of the company is World Vision. |

| I just did a search on the site for Kiddy Girl-and and the top result (in the "Ads by Google" section above the actual site search results) was this obvious bootleg. | |||

Just encountered an add for JManga that is a bit... questionable.
I doubt I would have posted this, except for the fact that the coloration there makes it look like you can see her areolas a bit. Made me do a double take, though looking closer I saw that her upper cleavage and shoulder are also red (in addition to her cheeks of course). So I guess she's just drawn with that rosy cheeks/rosy everything art style. I don't really mind the ad myself, but I can see it potentially causing issues for other users. Definitely wouldn't want that ad popping up if I visited ANN from somewhere other than my home, and unlike the sexy site skins that ANN sometimes uses, this ad isn't something normal users can switch off. So I figured I'd post about the ad here, in case you feel it is a bit too risque. The ad takes me to the following website: http://jmanga7.com/ I live in the United States, in California. And finally, the "ads by" at the bottom of the page is "Ads by Gorilla Nation & Jmanga," though I don't think it's going to be too hard to narrow down the source of the ad in this case. |

| 1) Town Fertility/Renta! - http://img651.imageshack.us/ 2) http://renta.papy.co.jp/ 3) Pennsylvania, USA 4) Ads by TRSi & Renta Yeah, I would not want to be caught with this up on my computer at work. Also, the ad looking like an attempted rape is going on which seems highly inappropriate. |

| I keep meaning to say something about those Renta ads myself. | |||

| I also just saw one of those Renta ads. I can upload the image if necessary, but I think it will be sufficient to just inform you that one of the images featured a perspiring girl saying “Too Hot!”.
Edit: Just to clarify: besides for my location and the picture featured in the ad, the other information regarding the ad was the same as brand posted earlier. |

| Okay, I'll work with Renta! to tame future ads down a bit. To make it clear, our policy is to allow suggestive ads as long as they are not explicit.
The way I explained it to Renta! was, "A child should not see that the ad is ecchi, but I don't care if adults can read between the lines." Here's the thing, the click through rate for suggestive ads is about 5x the click through rate for non-suggestive ads. That's why our advertisers keep going that route, because apparently it's what our readers appear to be interested in. -t |

I just got that add today! Took a screenshot too. Here: http://i918.photobucket.com/ I don't know, I guess it just felt like it was a little over the line of "suggestive" to me. |
