Wait, Rideback gets relegated to the "also" tier? I may have seen that in fansubs, and probably won't buy it, but I definitely want to rent it again in better quality! It's not a masterpiece, but it's a really good, solid series with a strong female lead who isn't also hypersexualized. She's just...awesome.

@JuicyB: I'd like to see Geneon license Kai in North America, too, but there's no call for that kind of language. And it's not like Funi had to actually do the fans a favor by distributing the rest of first Higurashi series.

What, they don't have the money to license anything decent I guess. Chaos head? How about Higurashi season 2, fags?

I'm definitely in for Rideback. That's something I can just pre-order blind without thinking too much about it. Apparently very well-produced (and animated by Madhouse, unsurprisingly!), certainly unusual, and a good female lead is always a plus. Also, c'mon, any mecha fan has to be at least a little attracted by the transforming motorcycle bit. A pretty easy & affordable investment at 12 episodes too. Hopefully they'll have a Blu-Ray for it.

Anybody that actually posts just to complain about new licenses in R1 gets honorary douchebag status.

It was attractive, but unfortunately plot is kind of a big element of a production..

However, it's definitely worth a rent or stream.

Well, from what I've read here and there mileage varies about that. There are those that have enjoyed very well even while acknowledging that it wasn't a flawless production. So, still willing to take a shot at it. Good thought too, I'll probably be able to stream a bit of it before the street date arrives.

Lots of good stuff to look forward to!! I don't know about you all, but I am so stoked for Eden of the East. Plus I want to see Rideback (CG motorcycles notwithstanding) and Chaos Head (ditto weird capitalization that I cannot reproduce).

Shikabane Hime dub looks super solid as well. Spiffy, spiffy stuff here.

Same here.

If it's not streaming legally around the release date, I will just check out the first episode or 2 fansubbed. It is really the only new Funimation license out of the 7 that interests me.

Hooray! Rideback! Awesome news! Will SigIkki check out the manga now?
Inrtrigued by the GunXSword rerelease, might check that out.
Regios looks like a maybe? I imagine Vampire+Rosario should be a decent hit for them- the manga is a best seller, well above a lot of other SJ titles that get more online buzz, so there might be an actual market for it [unlike DGrayman's anime apparently :( Maybe Section23'll give finishing that a try]

That's so weird! I was just reading the manga for Rosario+Vampire today and thinking:

"man, I wonder why the anime hasn't been licensed, I thought alot of people liked this series"

stop reading my mind Funi D:<

I don't really like the show. But I know people who do, so I'm glad for them.
