| Sweet. I thinks Totoro has to be one of the best movie (anime or live action) ever. Adults and children can both enjoy this movie. | ||||||

This is one of thew few Ghibli movies I haven't seen yet. Probably going to watch it soon. |

| Nice. Now just release it on Blu-ray so I can watch it.
I refuse to watch a single other Ghibli flim in standard-def DVD. Which means.... A)I've got quite the wait on my hands, and B)Its going to be a long ass time before I ever get to watch Grave of the Fireflies (I want to watch it back to back with Totoro. |

Hmm. If you're doing that, I recommend watching Totoro second. It would follow Grave of the Fireflies VERY well. |

The purchasing power in Japan vs US can be quite disparate, even with Japan being more than 1/3 the population of the US. For instance, in the US, a blockbuster can move several million DVDs in just a couple days. |

| Buying videos/building a video library isn't as common a practice in Japan as it is in some other countries. Most people just rent. | ||||||

Between Fox's release [which also had a long history on VHS] and Disney's release and recent reissue, I imagine the US might of quietly sold 1 million copies sooner, or is close to it. I'm curious where the number stands- Disney movies generally tend to move multiple millions of copies, so I don't see their Ghibli movies being that obscure. |

Kiki's Delivery Service itself sold over a million VHS, so Disney moves Ghibli films quite fast. |

| big congrats on totoro!
still what impresses me most is that Howl's moving castle is the 2nd best selling ghibli movie ever. It's a good movie, but it doesn't top Monoke hime or Nausicaa. |

| Whoa, folks really like 'Totoro'. I just watched 'Totoro' over the 'Memorial Day' weekend with my niece. She didn't get it. She liked it though. It was the first time in a long time I actually sat and watched it. I plan to introduce all of 'Miyazaki's movies to my niece over time. | ||||||
