Oh, so BRS is only going to be a 50-min. OAV?

For some reason I thought it was going to be a whole cour.

I don't really get it why there is so much hype around this ova, is it because of the artist?

I hope it will be as good as some people say it will be.

I can't speak for anyone else, but the animation style as shown in the pilot edition was what really grabbed me. It had a pretty big Lain/Gankutsuou experimental feel to it, with a high degree of kineticism.

It was announced months ago that it was 50 mins and is going to be streamed free online and the DVD bundled with a couple of anime-related magazines.

Miku Hatsune doing the OP is a big chuck of the hype as well.

Ryo's work inspired the musical artist Ryo to compose a "Black Rock Shooter" song using the Vocaloid2 voice-synthesis character Hatsune Miku, and a "pilot edition" of anime has already been released in September.

Do you mean Huke's work? Because that's kinda redundant.

If its only 50 min. how will the plot work out? It seemed form the vids I saw it should be longer than that. Does anyone know the actual release date?

Well, barring any new delays, it should be out....

As for the plot, I expect it will work out like any other self-contained, non-serialized OVA.
