I'm probably wrong, but to me USA sounds like Sean Schemmel.

Also...... nutburger. Very Happy

Sorry but with all the commotion some of the recent accents have been drawing it is nice for Funimation not to use an accent with England.
Laughing

Yes, they did it's just not a riiculous sounding accent like cockney.

I wasn't asking for ridiculous cockny; Oxford English would be fine.
My point was that there is not much of an accent there. It sounds more like he took an etiquette class so some of his words have a better pronunciation than a typical American would have. That however is not anyone of the known British accents.

None of the accents in the dub have been "known accents", but rather stereotypes of how America (and other countries) think that they speak English. The UK accent in the dub is pretty much exactly what most Americans will sound like when trying to impersonate a person from the UK.

Most Americans if they tried to do a stereotypical English accent would sound cockny, sprinkle in "in'it", and try to use "bloody" as a verb, adjective and noun.

The dub accent does not exist. What is being done is just a slight characterization with some turns of phrases. I am still in the dark as to what the smeg a nutburger is.
A pompous accent is more like it. Stereotypical English accent? Pfft bollocks.

Did you even watch the clip? It included USA, and I can tell you it really is not JYB. It's sounded more like Eric Vale.

The new France clip has decent amount of America in it. It certainly sounds like Eric Vale.

*insert ridiculous fangirl squeal* These clips just get better and better! France and England's (Or should I say "Brittan" now?) are the funniest yet! Anime hyper I barely even remember the original dialogue like I could with the others, but I know for sure that it didn't crack me up as much as this :3 I don't think I've been so excited about an anime release in so long; it's a great feeling!

And as for the accents, while I can understand where some people might be coming from, I don't find the accents all that insulting. True, that accent Japan is sporting isn't really accurate, but I usually don't get bothered by non-pc things such as this. (And what can I say, my grandma can hear/pronounce the difference between two of my friend's last names: Reano and Leano) Plus, like it was mentioned before, it's not like the original Japanese was all that PC itself. America was spouting out random english and China had that wonderfully annoying (IMO) -aru suffix at the end of the sentence that I know Japan (the actual country, not the character) loves to give "Chinese" characters.

It's all in good fun, and I love how liberally they're treating the script! :3

Annoying "aru"? Silly me I thought they were trying to imply China in Hetalia was the older country by having him speak formally with an archaic form of "desu".

Well, to me it's annoying. ^^;; I can probably thank Jam Kuradoberi (from Guilty Gear X) for establishing that bias in me though. I'm not sure why, but Japan just loves giving that "aru" to Chinese themed characters from what I've noticed. Maybe it's not as big of a trend as I've though and I just have the luck to catch the characters when they say it. LoL

Listened to a few clips of Eric Vale as Desert Punk, and agree that he's USA.

These Hetalia clips are great. Can't wait to eventually see the dub.

I am actually really pleased they chose Eric Vale. He does a pretty good job, if you ask me.
