Maybe they figure there wouldn't be enough women if they charged them? I curious what exactly "sympathetic to otaku" means? I don't think I'd be too happy if I was paired with a woman who was there because she felt sorry for me in some way. |

From what I can tell, it's extremely common, and almost expected, for women to marry older men in Japan, or at least it used to be? But I'm guessing that men also just don't want to date 40 year-old women. Heck the 'Christmas Cake' by 25 years old came from Japan as well, so I'm surprised the age for women made it up to 35. |
