Definitely this was not a good week for japanese auteurs, Kawamoto's puppet animation was great. |

Nope all a big joke, has to be. Yamauchi, Kon and Kawamoto are all together laughing it up in...
...um, never mind. |

| Were those the only puppet shows he did? 'Cus I remember one of the Bandai Visual people reminiscing about a show he had the toys for when he was a kid. R.I.P. |

The moment I read "Passes Away," I just threw my hands into the air and yelled "What the ****?!"
May he rest in peace just as Kon and Yamauchi. |

Don't these things always happen in threes?
My condolences though. Its a sad week for the Anime/Animation community. |

A DVD that collects some of his short films, "The Exquisite Short Films of Kihachiro Kawamoto" was released in the US, and another one with his feature "The Book of the Dead" is also available. While his style takes some time getting used too, I highly recommend checking out his work. |

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a huge "WHAT THE ****?!" moment. This is not a good week for animators and the like... I'm sure they're all probably having a "WTF" moment up in heaven too.
May he rest in peace. |

Yep, never two without three, so never three without four?
At least he had good innings. The que is getting a bit long at the turnstile to the next world it seems. Rest in peace. |

He is the third.
Rest in peace Kihachiro Kawamoto.
Hopefully there won't be any more deaths for a while now.....like I said before, famous people always go in sets of 3...... |
